Identity

Jesus is making everything new.  We are baptized into a whole new life just like when the Israelites were delivered out of Egypt through the Red Sea, or Noah after the flood.  We are washed and made new through Jesus. We have a new identity.  We are a Family of Missionary Servants.

Family

We have been baptized into the Father, giving us a new identity as family.  We can now call God daddy and relate to him as a good father.  If God is our dad we are foremost brothers and sisters. We as a church are, by God’s grace, learning to live life together and figuring out what it looks like to be a family.  The primary way we walk out our new identity as family is through our Missional Communities

Missionary

We have been baptized into the Spirit giving us the identity of missionaries.  Jesus has given us his Spirit in order for us to be empowered to make much of Him. (To be His witness, Acts 1:8 )  The Spirit gifts us, produces fruit in us, comforts us, reminds us of everything Jesus has taught and so much more; in order for Jesus to be made known.  God has chosen us, his people, to make the wonderful mystery of Jesus known.  Its through God’s family empowered by God’s Spirit that He has chosen to show the world His rescue plan.  We are a missionary people serving a missionary God.  We are all a sent people, whether it is across the world or across our street.  The primary way we walk out our new identity as missionaries is through our Missional Communities.

Servant

We have been baptized into the son, King Jesus.  All authority has been given to him; he is our new king making us a servant people.  We serve our king by serving people. “Whatever you did for the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.”  Matthew 25:40 God is giving us new eyes to see how we can be a blessing wherever he has placed us.  The primary way we walk out our new identity as servants is through our Missional Communities.
